Welcome to Confam. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Confam ("Confam", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, protects, and discloses your personal information when you access or use the Confam platform ("Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you voluntarily provide as well as certain information collected automatically when you use the Platform.

A. Account Information

When you register, we may collect: Full name, Email address, Password (stored securely in encrypted/hashed form), and Profile photo (if provided).

B. Banking Information

To facilitate peer-to-peer transactions, you may choose to provide: Canadian payment details (such as Interac email address or phone number), Nigerian bank name, Nigerian account number, and Nigerian account name. Confam does not collect or store online banking passwords, PINs, or security questions.

C. Transaction Information

When you create or participate in a transaction, we collect: Transaction amount, Currency, Exchange rate, Counterparty information, Transaction status, Completion timestamps, Dispute status, and Transaction history.

D. Communication & Technical Information

We collect communications exchanged within Confam (in-app messages, screenshots, dispute evidence) and technical data (IP address, browser, device, login timestamps) to secure the Platform and resolve disputes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: Create and manage accounts, Enable transactions between users, Display profiles to counterparties where necessary, Provide transaction notifications, Calculate completion rates and trust indicators, Investigate suspected fraud, Respond to customer support requests, and Comply with legal obligations.

4. Trust Indicators

Confam may display certain information (Completion rate, Number of completed transactions, Verification status, Account age) to help users make informed decisions before entering a transaction. These indicators do not constitute a guarantee of future performance.

5. Information Sharing

Confam does not sell your personal information. We share limited information with your transaction counterparty (Name, Payment details provided for that deal, Verification status) and trusted service providers (hosting, email notifications, security).

6. Data Security & Retention

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain accounts, preserve transaction history, investigate fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
